Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukoka Saraki, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to let him be the presidential flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming general elections. The former Kwara State governor while meeting with delegates of the PDP in Lagos, said he wants to defeat the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu again.
Saraki told the delegates that he remained their own as someone who last defeated the “Emperor of Bourdillon” who according to him had sometimes vowed that he would not become the senate president.
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has confirmed that he worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) added that he worked totally against the party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking during Channels TV Sunday Politics programme, the former Governor submitted that it was wrong of the PDP to have given its ticket to Atiku who is a northerner since Muhammadu Buhari who is also a northerner was just completing eight years in the seat of power.
